On Saturday May 20th Senior Ball was held at the San Francisco Regency Ballroom from 8:00 to 11:30 pm.
Before the event many students got ready with their friends and then went to take pictures at Livorna Park.
Ms. Renno, Mr. Campbell, and Mr. Granzatto all attended Ball.
"There were two serial acrobats, (one with a ring and the other with a curtain), a sword swallower and a weird ball juggling guy, a lady on stilts and then a rapper Sage the Gemini...I guess the ball had a cirque de soleil theme," said Granzatto. "I thought the crepes were the best part. Definitely the most memorable part for me. But I imagine the kids would say the rapper."
The senior class officers Natalie Ining, Shannon Keyes, Samantha Coppersmith, and Emily Costanza started planning for Ball a year ago. They were the ones who came up with the idea of having Sage the Gemini perform at ball.
It cost $17,000 to have Sage perform a fifteen minute set and the DJ was $1,300.
"We were actually really fortunate because we made record breaking sales at the rummage sale our sophomore year. We had a lot of extra money," said Coppersmith. "This is the first performer Las Lomas has ever had [at ball], which is pretty cool to be able to say.
"Everything worked out and was on schedule, there were no problems...The DJ was amazing and so was Sage, he later had a meet and greet," said senior parent advisor Mary Louie.
At the meet and greet students had the opportunity to take pictures with Sage.
"Our thing about Senior Ball this year was that we wanted to unlike a lot of years really try to include all sorts of people and have something for everyone, so we had the food, we had games, we had the performers, just so many different things so we could really hopefully make Ball the best one in Las Lomas history," said Coppersmith.
