Summer: What to Do in the Creek
With summer quickly approaching, plans are being made to ensure a great break. If you don’t know what to do, here are some fun and interesting events happening this summer that cater to a variety of interests.
Since Fourth of July is a summer favorite, with big barbeque parties and unlimited hotdogs and burgers. You may want to take a breather from the long nights with a big family. You and your friends can head on out to Pleasant Hill to see a parade on Cleveland Rd. & Gregory Ln, starting at 9:30 am. Fireworks coming from College Park will begin after 9 pm, so be sure to grab a viewing spot nearby!
Go out and be proud at the 48th annual San Francisco Pride Parade and Celebration on June 23rd & 24th, it’s free starts at 10:30 am. Express yourself and support others at the parade, located along Market Street from Stuart Street to 8th Street.
Another great way to spend a summer day is at the ballpark. Baseball games are always fun to go to especially when you’re cheering on your favorite team. Make sure to show your best team spirit while you’re there because you might get on TV!
For those people who love music, go check out the iconic Fillmore Jazz Festival, and enjoy free music while exploring booths full of goodies and food. The festival is held on June 30th and July 1st from 10 am to 6 pm, covering twelve blocks of Fillmore Street between Jackson and Eddy all for free.
There is also the well-known Outside Lands music festival being held in Golden Gate Park from August 10th to August 12th, featuring artists such as The Weeknd, Future and Mac DeMarco, with a three-day pass starting at $375.
If you are a car lover, summer nights will be breathtaking at the Classic Car Show in Danville, on July 22 and August 19 with free entry, a ton of old cars, and music and food. Hopefully these ideas inspire you to go out with your friends and family to enjoy the summer time, and all of the fun events that come with it!
