The Final Episode of the Knights v.s. Cougars 2018

It was this exact game at Campolindo high school, that gave Las Lomas their only loss in league last season. Now, this Tues. Feb. 13th at 7:00 PM the (22-2, 7-1 in league) Las Lomas Knights travel to Campolindo to take on the (16-8, 4-4 in league) Campolindo Cougars, in what should be an entertaining game. The Knights have played the Cougars once so far this season and beat them 78-56. Both teams have a strong overall record and have played exceptionally well this season. Campolindo never gives up on games and are well coached, led by second year head coach Steven Dyer. Dyer, a 2007 Campo graduate and in his first year had himself an impressive first year as head coach, leading them to a 20-11 overall record with a 7-3 record in league. The Cougars also made it to the second round in state for division three, and made it to the finals in the NCS playoffs.

Campolindo, this season is led by the talented point guard, sophomore Carter Mahaney and the superb shooter Will Cummins. Mahaney, against the tough Clayton Valley team hit the final shot in double overtime against Clayton Valley that gave the Ugly Eagles their first loss of the season. John Torchio, for Campo also brings athleticism to the team and is a solid forward for them. Recently, Torchio committed to the University of Wisconsin to play football after having a phenomenal final senior season for the Cougars in football. This game can help Campolindo by giving them a boost in rankings if they take down the Knights.

Las Lomas has had one of the best seasons the program has ever seen, and they want to finish strong these last two games of the regular season and throughout the playoffs. The starting lineup for the Knights this year, with Robert Prince, Jason Holman, Nathan Robinson, Devin Payne, and Homer Kravets is arguably the best starting lineup ever to be made at Las Lomas. All five of these players are capable of playing college basketball next year, and a majority of them well. They have had the best defense in DFAL all season and continue to show why they are a legit contender to win the NCS playoffs. Just two games ago, Las Lomas dethroned Clayton Valley of first place in league, and now the Knights have sole possession of the top spot. Campolindo, is still fighting in hopes of getting a top two spot in one of the toughest leagues in all of NorCal.

The student sections for Las Lomas and Campo will be in attendance for this game and it will be a loud arena. Both of these student sections are great at what they do, and want to get as much of an advantage for their teams as possible. This is a big rivalry game that you won’t want to miss, as it will be the last time these two teams meet in the regular season, so come to the game and sit back relax and enjoy the game.
