China Harvey Wins Educator of the Year for the Acalanes School District

Ms. Harvey won teacher of the year for the Acalanes school district. Teachers can nominate each other for TOY. Then, Las Lomas's site principal, held a meeting with three site representatives and at least one school administrator and voted to determine which teacher to nominate for the district.

"I'm so honored to be able to represent the district, it was such a humbling experience. I work with so many great teachers and anyone of them could have received this honor so I feel really honored that they selected me, " said Harvey.

Harvey has been teaching for eight and a half years. She worked at Tiffany's before becoming a teacher. "I wanted to become a teacher because when I was in college I fell in love with history, so I wanted a job where I could pass that love on to other people, " said Harvey.
